DJ Xeleléu

One of the longest-standing Forró Pé de Serra DJs in the world, Xeleléu has been promoting Northeastern Brazilian culture since 1999 with a comprehensive repertoire featuring xotes, xaxados, baiões, maracatus, and other related rhythms. His musical selection showcases traditional artists like Luiz Gonzaga, Dominguinhos, Jackson do Pandeiro, Trio Nordestino, Os 3 do Nordeste, Marinês, Anastácia, alongside newer bands and trios. Throughout his remarkable career, he has completed four European tours, DJed at numerous venues in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Bahia, Brasília, and Santa Catarina. He has also received awards and shared the stage with hundreds of prominent Brazilian musicians, including Elba Ramalho, Alceu Valença, Zé Ramalho, Geraldo Azevedo, Moraes Moreira, Seu Jorge, Zeca Pagodinho, Jorge Ben Jor, Lenine, Zeca Baleiro, Natiruts, and Ponto de Equilíbrio, among many others. Thanks to his extensive experience and vast knowledge acquired over nearly three decades, he frequently participates in podcasts, television and radio programs, debates, and workshops where Forró Pé de Serra is the main topic. Currently, he is part of the Projeto Forró pra Juventude, a pioneering DJ collective in Rio de Janeiro that plays 100% vinyl sets. He also holds residencies at the Museu do Pontal's 'arraiais' (festivals), Fundição Progresso, Shopping Downtown, and the Rootstock Brasil Festival, and tours the country playing at major parties and events.
