Full lyrics
Bota a lenha pra fora
E prepara a fogueira
O arrasta-pé vai ser a noite inteira
Chama o menino e explica o endereço
Pra chamar titia Antônia
Para vir rezar o terço
Chegou Chico Caroço
Com a turma da bandinha
E o negócio começa
Depois da ladainha
Santo Antônio disse
E São Pedro confirmou
Você vai ser minha comadre
Que São João mandou
Mas bota a lenha pra fora
E prepara a fogueira
O arrasta-pé vai ser a noite inteira
Translation
Put the firewood out
And prepare the bonfire
The arrasta-pé will be all night long
Call the boy and explain the address
To call aunt Antônia
To come pray the rosary
Chico Caroço arrived
With the band's group
And the party begins
After the litany
Santo Antônio said
And São Pedro confirmed
You will be my comadre
That São João commanded
But put the firewood out
And prepare the bonfire
The arrasta-pé will be all night long
